In 2005, Fuel 44 began as Anglo Oil Industrial but later changed our name because of confusion with a similarly named larger company. We have supplied and continue to supply various industries with their energy needs which includes fishing, clothing, confectionery, laundry and dairy.

Our plant is based in Woodstock, Cape Town and we buy in oils nationally for conversion into
heating and boiler fuels.

In a world where non-renewable fossil fuels are being depleted much faster than new ones are being made, it is of major significance that we can take waste streams that would otherwise go to landfill and negatively impact the environment and turn these into a commercially viable product.

In 2014 we pivoted our business in response to the new laws that were promulgated which would restrict liquid waste to landfill by 2018.

 

In 2018, as those laws came into effect, we used our abilities to recycle oils to recycle contaminated oily water.

In 2020 we were awarded a liquid hazardous waste licence that allows us to better serve the needs of those customers and shipping companies requiring safe disposal of their hydrocarbon waste streams.

In 2023 we installed new technology (manufactured in South Africa) that increases our throughput to 36 cbm / hour whilst at the same time removing suspended solids.
